Help Shape North Bend’s Economic Future: Apply for Open Commission Seats

The City of North Bend is seeking applicants to fill vacancies on the Business & Economic Development Commission for Position No. 2, term expiring December 31, 2027, and Position No. 5, term expiring December 31, 2028. 

The Business & Economic Development Commission consists of five (5) members. It is responsible for providing recommendations to the City Council for North Bend’s economic growth and development based on specific work plans or projects as assigned by the City Council. The Commission typically meets monthly on a Thursday afternoon at 12 p.m. 

NBMC Chapter 2.30 states, “The commission shall consist of five members selected as follows: (i) at least two members shall be city residents; and (ii) at least two members shall work for or have an ownership interest in a business located within the City but are not required to be city residents.”  

Anyone who resides within the 98045 zip code area and is interested in serving the Community on this Commission is urged to submit an application by mail to the City of North Bend, Attn: City Clerk, 920 SE Cedar Falls Way, North Bend, WA 98045 or by email to soppedal@northbendwa.gov. Preference will be given to applicants who have a business or strong business ties to the community. 

The deadline for submission is February 28, 2025.
