Help Shape EV Charging in Snoqualmie: Suggest Locations for New PSE Pole-Mounted Chargers

More electric vehicle (EV) charging stations are coming to Snoqualmie. Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is collaborating with local communities, including the City of Snoqualmie, to expand access to convenient EV charging options for all residents.

As part of the new Up & Go Electric Public Pole Charging program, PSE will install several pole-mounted EV chargers throughout the City. To ensure these chargers meet community needs, the City and PSE invite public input to help determine the best locations for the new stations.

How to Suggest Locations for Pole Charging Stations in Snoqualmie

Residents can propose locations in two ways:

  1. Interactive Online Map: Drop a pin using the interactive Suggest a Pole Mounted EV Charging Station map. Click the blue “Suggest a Public Charging Station” button at the bottom left, zoom into your preferred spot, and click to drop a pin.
  2. In-Person Maps (January): In January, visit the Snoqualmie Community Center/YMCA or City Hall to provide feedback on physical maps available in the lobbies.

Feedback from the maps, City officials, and other community members will guide PSE’s final decisions on where to place these chargers over the coming months.

What is Pole Charging?

Pole-mounted chargers are attached to curbside streetlights or utility poles, making them easily accessible and increasing the number of potential charging locations. These chargers feature retractable cords, which lower after payment, keeping them clear of pedestrian pathways while providing easy access for EV drivers. The Level 2 chargers deliver 10 to 25 miles of range per hour of charging.

Collaborative Goals for Snoqualmie

Snoqualmie’s partnership with PSE supports the City’s goal of promoting alternative refueling options, including EV charging. The program aims to:

  • Provide more charging opportunities for residents in apartments or condos.
  • Expand charging access near local businesses for drivers running errands or shopping.
  • Ensure 24/7 availability for all EV drivers.
  • Locate chargers conveniently near parks, libraries, and other community destinations.

PSE will fund the installation of the pole-mounted chargers as part of this project. For more details, visit www.pse.com/polecharging.
