The City of Snoqualmie invites residents to share their feedback on proposed adjustments to utility rates for 2025-2030 during a public hearing on January 13, 2025, at the City Council meeting at 7 p.m.
Snoqualmie provides water, sewer, and stormwater services to city and non-city customers. Under Washington State law, utility rates must generate enough revenue to fund operational costs and necessary capital improvements. To ensure compliance, the City conducts regular rate reviews.
The most recent utility rate study examined factors such as required capital improvement projects, inflation, and rate class usage impacts on water, sewer, and stormwater utilities. Based on this review, proposed changes would result in an average annual increase of 4% to 12% for residential customers and 1% to 5% for multifamily customers.
If the City Council approves, the updated rates would take effect in February 2025. The City will also continue offering a reduced rate program for income-eligible customers.
Residents can share verbal comments during the Jan. 13 hearing or submit written comments by 5 p.m. on Jan. 10, 2025.
Written feedback should be directed to Dylan Gamble, CIP Manager, at PO Box 987, Snoqualmie, WA 98065, or emailed to dgamble@snoqualmiewa.gov.

TLDR: Tell Snoqualmie city council if you’ll be excited about a 40% increase in your water bill, or about $77 extra, over the course of the next 5 years.
Inevitably which will be followed by another 5 year increase…and another…and another.
Didn’t we just have a 5 year increase?
