Gone Fishing! Popular Kids Trout Derby returns to Snoqualmie Valley this weekend

Feel like fishing? If so this popular family event returns for another year at the Snoqualmie Police Station, but you need to get up bright and early so you don’t miss the action!

The Kids’ Trout Derby – a free event hosted by the Mount Si Fish & Game Club to promote interest in the outdoors – takes place Saturday, May 5th from daylight to 10 a.m. at the ponds behind the Snoqualmie Police Department, 34825 S.E. Douglas Street.

Kids ages 5-14 can compete. The event has your early morning cravings covered, too. Free coffee, donuts and hot chocolate will fortify parents and young anglers.

Don’t forget…. Prizes will be awarded to winners in different categories, too.

Competition Details: 

  • No registration is necessary
  • Children ages 5 to 14 may compete
  • Children under 5 may fish
  • There is a limit of two fish
  • Bring your own fishing tackle
  • Nets are not allowed
  • No dogs are allowed on site
