Join the community in preserving Snoqualmie’s natural spaces on Green Snoqualmie Day, Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 9 a.m. to noon. The event will take place on Park Street, across from the Mount Si High School track field in downtown Snoqualmie.
Fall marks the start of the planting season, offering a perfect opportunity to make a lasting environmental impact. Volunteers are invited to help plant Snoqualmie’s new Climate Change Adaptation Demonstration Forest, a project focused on strengthening the urban forest’s resilience to climate change.
Participants will plant various trees and shrubs designed to thrive in a changing climate, using strategies that promote resistance, resilience, and long-term adaptation. These efforts will support the urban forest’s growth and sustainability for future generations.
Gloves, tools, coffee, water, and snacks will be provided. This all-ages event is family-friendly, and people of all abilities are encouraged to participate.
Green Snoqualmie Day is part of the Green Snoqualmie Partnership, a program dedicated to restoring and maintaining Snoqualmie’s forested parks and natural areas. The partnership has successfully removed large areas of invasive plants and planted numerous trees.
