Get an Inside Look at Law Enforcement Through the KCSO Community Police Academy

The 2026 Community Police Academy is now accepting applications for this year’s course, and the North Bend Police Department encourages residents to apply.

The academy is open to those served by the King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) Precinct 2, including North Bend, Woodinville, Sammamish, Carnation, Skykomish, and unincorporated surrounding areas.

This year’s academy will run from September 17 through October 29, with classes held in person on Thursday evenings and some Saturdays at KCSO Precinct 2, located at 801 228 Avenue NE in Sammamish. In addition to actively participating in some training, topics will include:

  • A close look at police work
  • Skills demonstrations
  • Information about specialty units
  • Criminal investigations

Apply by downloading a Community Police Academy application. Return the completed application via mail to KCSO, with attention to Community Police Academy, 801 228th Ave SE, Sammamish, WA 98075. You may also email your completed application to [email protected].

KCSO has provided police services in North Bend since April 1, 2026, when it assumed law enforcement responsibilities following the city’s transition from the Snoqualmie Police Department. The move marked a return to the community, which was KCSO’s first contract city more than five decades ago.
