Four of the Seven Echo Glen Escapees Charged as Adults

The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office filed multiple felony charges concerning the recent Echo Glen incident.

Based on their age and conviction history, four respondents were charged in adult court, which state law requires. Three respondents were charged into juvenile court.

Two respondents did not have the requisite criminal history to be legally eligible for adult court jurisdiction, while the remaining juvenile is too young to be charged into adult court under these circumstances.

The adult charges based on the available evidence are:

  • Robbery in the First Degree (against four respondents)
  • Unlawful Imprisonment (against two respondents)
  • Escape in the First Degree (against four respondents)
  • Theft of a Motor Vehicle (against four respondents)

See the charging documents here. Arraignments for each are at 8:30 on June 14 at the King County Courthouse.

The juvenile charges based on the available evidence are:

  • Robbery in the First Degree (against all three respondents)
  • Unlawful Imprisonment (against all three respondents)
  • Escape in the First Degree (against all three respondents)
  • Theft of a Motor Vehicle (against all three respondents)

Arraignments for each were at 1:30 pm today, June 2, at the Clark Children and Family Justice Center in Seattle.
