Fatal Traffic Collision on I-90 Claims Life of Pedestrian, Lanes Closed for Over Four Hours

In an incident at 10:51 pm on January 28, 2024, a fatal traffic collision occurred on Eastbound Interstate 90 at Milepost 50, resulting in the death of a pedestrian and significant traffic disruption. The accident involved two vehicles and a pedestrian, identified as a 23-year-old male from Lynnwood, WA.

According to the incident report, both vehicles were traveling eastbound on I-90 in the third lane out of four. The pedestrian was lying in the roadway perpendicular to the traffic flow in the same lane. Tragically, both vehicles struck the man, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The drivers of the two vehicles, a 30-year-old female from Wenatchee, WA, driving a white 2016 Toyota RAV4, and a 64-year-old man from Burnet, TX, driving a red 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander, were not injured. A 21-year-old female, also of Wenatchee, WA, was a passenger in one of the vehicles and also escaped injury. All involved were reported to have been wearing seatbelts.

The collision blocked the roadway for approximately four hours and 45 minutes, causing significant delays. The incident is currently under investigation to determine the cause, and it is unknown at this time whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
