Updated: Fatal 4-Car Collision Blocks All Lanes on SR-18 Near I-90, Extended Closure Expected

Update 1022 pm: The collision on SR 18 has been cleared. Eastbound and westbound lanes are open.

Update 837 pm: According to the Washington State Patrol, this was a three-car collision. The causing driver crossed the centerline traveling EB 18 and struck two other vehicles.

Unfortunately, that driver is deceased. Tows and Medical Examiner are on the way. Authorities are hoping to open the road in an hour.

According to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), at 705 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29th, 2024, on SR-18 eastbound and westbound, just west of I-90 (MP 26), a four-car collision is blocking all lanes.

Medical Aid, Fire Assistance, the Incident Response Team, and the State Patrol have arrived on the scene.

According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP) this is a fatal collision. Please use alternate routes. This will be an extended closure.

There is no estimate of when the roadway will be reopened.
