Expect delays for westbound SR 18 lane closure near Tiger Mountain, Dec. 13 – Dec. 16

Travelers headed westbound on State Route 18 should plan for delays as drilling work continues south of the Interstate 90 interchange.

From 5 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13 to 5 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, contractor crews will close the truck climbing lane where the highway crosses Deep Creek.

During the closure, workers will conduct a soil inspection for the future widening of SR 18 between the interchange and Deep Creek. Another project scheduled to start in 2025 will continue widening the highway from Deep Creek to Issaquah-Hobart Road.

Additionally, drilling for this project will close the shoulder of westbound SR 18 near the I-90 interchange from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12 and Tuesday, Dec. 13.

This work is weather-dependent and subject to change. Real-time traffic information is available on the WSDOT statewide travel map, the WSDOT app and the WSDOT regional Twitter account.
