It was quite a scene in downtown Snoqualmie, Saturday July 18, 2015, after a reported erratic driver and ensuing multiple vehicle collision caused a big commotion for the quiet area filled with families visiting for the annual Day out with Thomas event and bikers traveling through as part of the Tour de Peaks Bike Ride.
Snoqualmie Police Chief Steve McCulley said around 10:50AM Snoqualmie Police officers and Snoqualmie Fire personnel responded to a report of a multiple car/ power pole collision on Railroad Ave at Fir Street.
The driver of a Nissan Leaf caused the accident when driving eastbound on Railroad Ave at a high rate of speed and then colliding into the back of a Honda Accord near Fir Street.
After striking the Honda, the Nissan veered across oncoming traffic and into a camper store at a residence on Railroad Ave, forcing the camper into a van also parked at the location. The Nissan then veered back across both lanes of Railroad Ave, collided with a light pole and landed in a ditch.
A Tour de Peaks bike rider who came upon the accident scene reported that a witness stated the vehicle had been driving erratically before the accident occurred, passing cars and veering in and out of lanes.
Chief McCulley said a female passenger in the Honda was transported to the hospital by ambulance for neck injuries. The male driver of the Nissan was also transported to the hospital an is under investigation for DUI.

First I would like to say my heart goes out to all the families involved and I hope everyone is doing much better today. This was truly an accident did anyone ever think that the young man driving could have gotten sick and lost control of the car inknown to himself and others ie blacked out or had a heart attack. The news is so easy to make a negative assumption.
