Encompass Launches New Parenting Series – Introduces A Smarter Way To Parent Young Children

Parenting is hard work, almost a game of trial and error at times.  Ask my children.  They won’t hesitate to list my faults, especially if I have done anything to irritate them that day.

There are ways to make it easier, though.  Ways I wish I’d know about 10 years ago when I had four children all under the age of 7.  Starting early can make the teenage years smoother.  I can attest to the old saying, “I wish I’d known then what I know now.”  Or even better, “I wish I’d learned then what I’ve spent the last three years learning now.”  Don’t wait young moms.  Study up.  Enlist the help of Snoqualmie Valley’s own, Encompass, AKA, “The Child Whisperer.”

In less than two weeks, Encompass launches a four-part parenting workshop designed with step-by-step, in-person help for smarter parenting of young children.  The workshop series was developed by the Talaris Institute and is presented at the new, state of the art Swedish Hospital in Issaquah Highlands.

Parenting Counts presents the latest scientific research on child development, but in a useful and practical way.  The curriculum covers the four pillars of a child’s social and emotional development and most importantly, highlights why each pillar is critical to a child’s academic and life success.

The series is designed for expecting parents and those with children newborn to age 5.  The workshop leader is Kerry Beymer, who manages Parenting Support and Education at Encompass. A parent educator for 15 years, Beymer is a certified “Parenting Counts” educator and trained in a variety of national, evidence-based parenting programs.  She is the local “go-to” lady for parenting education.

The series runs from 6PM – 8PM, May 7th, 14th and 21st and June 4th, all Mondays, at Swedish Issaquah, 751 NE Blakely Drive, Issaquah Highlands

Tuition is $30 per workshop or a full-series price of $99.  Parents can enroll for individual workshops or the series.

Registration is online at www.encompassnw.org. For more info, contact Kerry Beymer at 425.888.2777 or kerry.beymer@encompassnw.org.
