According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), on Tuesday, December 13th, two Semis cracked up on SR18, causing a long delay.
Just before 4 am, vehicle one, a 2022 semi hauling a trailer, driven by a 60-year-old man from Ellensburg, was traveling east on SR18 at milepost 26 in lane 1 of 1.
At the same time, vehicle two, a red 2020 semi with a trailer, driven by a 57-year-old man from Bensalem, PA, was traveling west on SR18 in lane one of one.
Vehicle one was driving down the centerline halfway into the oncoming lane. Vehicle one sideswiped vehicle two, ripping open his trailer and scrambling his cargo all over the roadway. See the dash cam video of the wreck here.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, and no one was seriously injured. The cause of the accident is stated as ‘crossing the center line.’ Driver one is egg-spected to face possible charges of negligent driving 2.
The roadway was closed for approximately 8 hours. No yolk for drivers trying to get to work!
Don’t forget SR18 will be closed on Fry-day from 4 am to 2 pm.
