UPDATE |  JANUARY 7, 2016, 8:15PM

Around 8PM, the Washington State Patrol reopened eastbound I-90 at Truck Town near North Bend after completing multiple accident investigations just east of Snoqualmie Pass.

ORIGINAL STORY

The Washington State Patrol closed eastbound I-90 at exit 34 near North Bend (Truck Town), Saturday, January 7, 2017 around 3:15PM due to multiple collisions between mileposts 79 (just west of Cle Elum) and 94, involving a fatality and critical injury.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Brian Moore stated via Twitter that there were three accident scenes: one three car collision near milepost 79 that resulted in a fatality; one six-car collision that involved a critical injury; and the third scene was near milepost 94, with several accidents involving about 10 vehicles. One vehicle rolled over and ejected an 11-year old passenger who was not wearing a seatbelt. Moore stated drivers may have been going to fast for the snowy conditions.

WSDOT said the estimated reopening time of eastbound lanes was 8PM. Trooper Moore had warned it could be a lengthy closure due to the fatal accident scene investigation.

Drivers were advised to use alternate routes and avoid I-90 near the accident scenes.

  • Sounds pretty bad over by Easton and Cle Elum. With closure at Exit 34 you would think anyone heading to the Pass or residents there would be allowed to continue!
