Early Morning I-90 Crash Near North Bend Injures Two

Two people were injured early Monday morning after a single-vehicle crash on westbound Interstate 90 near North Bend.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 12:29 a.m. February 16, at milepost 30.

Investigators say a 2015 Honda CR-V traveling westbound crossed from the travel lanes onto the right shoulder, entered a ditch, and struck a milepost sign before rolling and coming to rest on the shoulder.

The driver, Khaleeb B. Portillo-Cruz, 20, of Federal Way, was injured and evaluated by aid crews at the scene. Passenger Jocelyn C. Galindo Rascon, 18, also of Federal Way, was transported to Overlake Hospital with injuries. Two additional passengers, Xavier E. Leon Alvarenga, 20, of Auburn, and Kevin D. Robles Cardona, 20, also of Auburn, were not injured.

Troopers report drugs or alcohol were involved, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation. The vehicle was totaled.
