Want a flu shot? Want a flu shot conveniently administered for your crazy, hectic schedule? Then get in your car and that’s it. No appointment. No going into a grocery store or into a clinic.
The Snoqualmie Valley Hospital (SVH) is offering a Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinic this Saturday, October, 2013, from 9AM – 2PM in two location. You can visit their new East Campus, located at SE 99th Ave, right off Snoqualmie Parkway near I-90 – the former Leisure Time location. You can also visit the Snoqualmie Valley main hospital campus at 9575 Ethan Wade Way SE.
The vaccination cost is $30. SVH will provide a receipt for insurance for reimbursement. Medicare and Medicaid will be billed.
Vaccinations are also provided at the Snoqualmie Ridge Medical Clinic and the Hospital’s Primary Care Clinic, as well local pharmacies. As of yesterday, the Snoqualmie Ridge Clinic had not yet received their adult doses of the 2013-14 flu vaccine. The clinic did have child doses available, though. They are expecting the adult vaccine any day.
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends a yearly flu vaccine for everyone 6 months of age and older as the first and most important step for protection against the flu.
According to the CDC website, “While there are many different flu viruses, the flu vaccine is designed to protect against the three main flu strains that research indicates will cause the most illness during the flu season. Getting the flu vaccine as soon as it becomes available each year is always a good idea, and the protection you get from vaccination will last throughout the flu season.”
