A final piece of the downtown Snoqualmie Tree Streets Infrastructure Improvement Project – roadway grinding and repaving – is scheduled to begin the week of July 25, 2022. Completion is expected by Friday, July 29, 2022.
This repaving project will impact multiple areas of downtown Snoqualmie, including:
- SE Cedar Street between SE Cedar Place and SE Fir Street
- SE Fir Street between Pickering CT SE and SE Cedar Street
- Pine Ave SE between SE Cedar Street and SE 80th Street
- SE King Street between Silva Ave SE and Railroad Ave SE/SR 202
- The intersection of SE River Street and Maple Ave SE
During paving operations, drivers may experience rolling closures of these local roadways and intersections. Arterial routes, including River Street and Pine Ave, will be narrowed to a single lane controlled by flaggers.
Additionally, the new median planter beds in the redesigned intersections at King/Maple and River/Maple recently had new wrought iron fencing installed. Landscape plants should be placed in the coming weeks, and it is anticipated that new heritage trees, which are part of this project, will be planted in early fall.
The $3.4 million Tree Streets Project is part of the 5-year, $17 million Downtown Snoqualmie Utilities Capital Improvement Plan designed to replace aging water, sewer, and storm infrastructure to increase reliability and longevity of the systems, as well as improve driver and pedestrian safety in the area.
