The City of Snoqualmie announced on August 2, 2016 that the Center for Public Safety Excellence had awarded Snoqualmie Fire Chief Mark Correira the professional designation of “Chief Fire Officer,” making him one of only 1,175 with that designation worldwide.
Chief Correira received his original designation on June 15, 2013. He successfully completed the process for re-designation and was approved on July 15, 2016.
City Administrator Bob Larson commended Correira for his dedication to the fire profession and the Snoqualmie Fire Department, saying. “His commitment to earning this designation is outstanding.”
The Chief Fire Officer Designation program is a voluntary program. To maintain the designation, individuals need to show they have continued to develop as a Chief Fire Officer in the areas of Professional Development, Professional Contributions, Active Association Membership, and Community Involvement.
The Center for Public Safety Excellence is a primary resource for the fire and emergency profession to help continuously improve services, resulting in a higher quality of life for communities.
Chief Correira has led the Snoqualmie Fire Department for more than two and one half years. He and his family currently reside in North Bend.
Congrats, Chief!
