UPDATE: The SR 203 single-lane closure north of Carnation planned for Aug. 19-23 has been postponed due to a scheduling conflict for the contractor. The work will be rescheduled.
Another week of daytime single-lane closures on State Route 203 near Northeast Carnation Farm Road starts Monday, Aug. 19, to install a fence near a fish-passable culvert built last fall.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily Monday, Aug. 19, through Friday, Aug. 23, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will add permanent fall protection fencing around the new culvert. Flaggers will alternate traffic through the work zone.
Crews installed a permanent guardrail at this location earlier in August. Completing the new fencing signals the end of major construction on this fish barrier removal project on an unnamed tributary to Horseshoe Lake.
