Starting Monday, May 8 and continuing for several weeks, westbound drivers on Interstate 90 should watch for intermittent left lane closures along a three-mile stretch between Preston and High Point.
From 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday each week, workers will close the left lane to work on utilities for the I-90/SR 18 Interchange Improvements project.
SR 18 lane closures through May – Monday to Thursday
People who use State Route 18 should expect lane shifts and nighttime flagging operations for lane closures between the interchange and Deep Creek from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. This work is necessary for crews to widen SR 18 to two lanes in each direction.
Drilling crews are working on eastbound SR 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will close a single lane between Issaquah/Hobart Road and the summit of Tiger Mountain to gather samples for a project in design.
Why it’s happening
The interchange improvement project will build a diverging diamond interchange and widen SR 18 between I-90 and Deep Creek. Construction started in the summer of 2022 and is expected to be completed in 2025.
