Community members are invited to join the City of North Bend, EastsideFire & Rescue and King Conservation District for an important Town Hall about Wildfire Resiliency and Preparedness on June 23, 2021, at 6PM. The virtual Town Hall will be held using Zoom. See Zoom meeting link below.
The Town Hall will provide residents an opportunity to learn more about the proactive steps Eastside Fire & Rescue takes to protect North Bend when wildfire risk increases; the Wildland Urban Interface and what it means to live within its boundaries; and preventive steps they can take to reduce wildfire risks to their homes.
The City of North Bend and adjacent unincorporated King County areas are situated in a beautiful region, surrounded by mountains and forests. As such, living in this area means being prepared for brush and wildfires, including creating defensible spaces to protect homes and families.
The June 23rd Town Hall will feature presentations from King Conservation District Wildfire and Forest Resiliency Coordinator Matthew Axe and Eastside Fire & Rescue Battalion Chief Dana Schutter. Following the presentations there will be ample time for attendee questions.
“We hope the North Bend and surrounding Snoqualmie Valley community will join us for this proactive Town Hall to learn simple steps residents can take to create a wildfire resilient community. By coming together and preparing now, we become ready to unite in the event wildland fires impact our area,” commented North Bend Communications Manager Danna McCall.
