Come Help Build a LIFE-SIZE Dragon Saturday, January 17th

First Sasquatch – now a DRAGON!

Is your family looking for something fun and local to do this weekend? If so, the cities of North Bend and Snoqualmie have teamed up and created a fun event for the whole family.

The North Bend Visitor Information Center and the Snoqualmie Sister City Association have partnered to create a LIFE-SIZE Korean Earth Dragon in the public plaza next to the North Bend Visitor Information Center (VIC), which is the little building right next to Bartell’s at the corner of Bendigo Blvd and Park Street.

The event is FREE, except if community members would like to make a small donation to add a Memory Flag to the project. The dragon will be constructed between 10AM – 3PM, Saturday, January 17, 2015.

The City of Snoqualmie welcomed a group of exchange students from their Korean sister city this week, who will help construct the Earth Dragon with local artists, Bob and Laura Antone, and the North Bend Visitor Info Center and Mountain View Art Gallery.

**Community members are asked to bring a piece of drift wood, stick and branches to add to the project.**

The event will also feature a Story Telling Circle from  3PM – 5PM, with stories of the Snoqualmie Valley told by Valley residents.

The Visitors Center still has local glass art by ArtbyFire on display and Dick Burhans has added some new local paintings to the Visitor Center’s walls, too. That art show runs through Feb 1st.
