City of North Bend Update: Maloney Grove and Cedar Falls Way Crosswalk

Work progresses as scheduled on the Maloney Grove and Cedar Falls Way crosswalk project. The city is currently working with Puget Sound Energy (PSE), Comcast, and Lumen on undergrounding utilities.

Contractor crews will begin demolition of the southwest corner of the project on Friday, July 7. Residents may expect a lot of activity at the Maloney Grove and Cedar Falls Way intersection from July 7 through July 14, after which utility work is expected to wrap up. There will be traffic delays and noise disruptions throughout the process, and traffic flaggers will be onsite to assist when needed.

Foot traffic has increased at this intersection, and with that, so has the need for a crosswalk. The crosswalk will have a push-activated rapid flashing beacon, making crossing Cedar Falls Way a safer experience for everyone.

Following this project, the city will fill a much-needed sidewalk gap on Maloney Grove Avenue that will connect the existing sidewalk to the corner of Maloney Grove Avenue and Cedar Falls Way. These projects are expected to be completed by the end of summer.
