At the September 15, 2026, North Bend City Council meeting, councilmembers unanimously approved over $3 million in grant funds to support local transportation improvement projects. “These projects further our work in increasing walking connectivity, traffic flow, and safety throughout North Bend, and it cannot be done without the hard work of our city staff,” said Mayor Miller.
Tanner Trail Extension Project
The City of North Bend was awarded $1,183,082 in Federal Highway Administration Transportation Alternatives Program funds to construct the Tanner Trail Extension Project. The City will provide a required match of $184,643, a combination of Transportation Impact Fees (TIF) and Transportation Benefit District (TBD) funds.
The project will extend the paved portion of Tanner Trail, starting near 1155 E North Bend Way, to just west of the Snoqualmie Valley Trail crossing at North Bend Way. The project will incorporate bump-outs for park benches and landscaping.
Design of the Tanner Trail Extension Project was scheduled to wrap up in September, and the City anticipates construction to begin in 2028.

The 2027 – 2032 TIP was adopted by the City Council at the May 19, 2026, City Council meeting.
