Christensen to Leave Snoqualmie City Council Following Relocation

Snoqualmie City Councilmember Cara Christensen has announced that she will step down from the City Council effective March 16, 2026, as she and her family prepare to relocate out of the area.

Christensen began her service to the community on the Snoqualmie Planning Commission before being appointed to the City Council in October 2021 and subsequently elected by Snoqualmie voters in November 2023.

“It has been a true honor to serve the residents of the City of Snoqualmie,” Christensen said. “Throughout my service, I have been consistently impressed by the expertise, diligence, and care demonstrated by our city staff. We are fortunate to have such dedicated public servants, and I am deeply grateful for their commitment to our community. Working alongside such a thoughtful and capable team has been a privilege.”

“Cara has approached her role with care and professionalism,” Mayor James Mayhew said. “Her time and energy have strengthened our community, and her service will have a lasting impact.”

Under state law, the Snoqualmie City Council will appoint a replacement within 90 days, from March 16. Information about the application and appointment process will be announced soon.
