The 2025 Green Snoqualmie Day will launch the fall planting season with a community event focused on resilience and stewardship. This year’s effort will create Snoqualmie’s own Climate Change Adaptation Demonstration Forest.
The Green Snoqualmie Partnership invites volunteers to gather on Saturday, October 4, from 9 a.m. to noon on Park Street, across from the Mount Si High School track field. Participants will plant trees and shrubs designed to help the urban forest adapt to a changing climate through resistance, resilience, and transition strategies that will benefit the community now and into the future.
Volunteers should come prepared for outdoor work in rain or shine, wearing clothes that can get dirty, sturdy closed-toe shoes, and weather-appropriate layers. Tools and gloves will be supplied, along with coffee, water, and a mid-morning snack. A pizza lunch will follow the planting. To help reduce waste, attendees are encouraged to bring their own refillable mugs or water bottles.
This family-friendly event welcomes people of all ages and abilities. Plan to arrive by 8:45 a.m. Parking is available at the east end of the work site, with signs to guide participants. Registration, parking details, and directions can be found on the Green Snoqualmie Day 2025 webpage.
In the afternoon, another opportunity awaits. From 1 to 4 p.m., the City of Snoqualmie Community Orchard will host a Riverwalk Fruit Tree Pruning workshop at 39282 SE Park Street.

Steve Gaber of NW Fruit, along with Snoqualmie’s Urban Forestry team, will provide hands-on instruction in pruning techniques for both summer and winter maintenance. Participants are encouraged to bring their own hand pruners, but tools and gloves will also be available. Learn more and register for this workshop at this link.

The Green Snoqualmie Partnership continues to restore and care for the city’s forested parks and natural areas, removing invasive plants and planting thousands of trees to ensure a healthy urban forest for future generations.
