On Aug. 15th, 2021 Carnation Farms is presenting Arts & Craft, the inaugural production of an annual wine and beer festival focusing on artisan winemakers and brewers in the Pacific Northwest.
Funds raised from this event will directly support Carnation Farms’ upcoming 2022 Culinary Training Program and Agricultural Educational Programs.
Arts & Craft will be held on the main campus of their historic property in Carnation, WA. The tasting will last from 12 pm until 3:30 pm, allowing guests to enjoy the property throughout the day.
Guests will have the opportunity to sample a variety of wines and beers from the vendors, while directly interacting with them and learning about their practices. There will be food available for purchase at the event, including a selection of house-made seasonal specialities by the Carnation Farms Culinary Team.
The featured producers have been invited due to their dedication to the craft, the environment and the transparency in their practices. At the event, there will be the opportunity to order wines from the tasting, with pickup available following the event.
“I hope that people are inspired to support these smaller producers from the surrounding areas and that we can increase the visibility of the movement towards sustainable production and artisan craft being commonplace,” explained Robb Finn, executive director of Carnation Farms.
Proceeds from Arts & Craft will benefit Carnation Farms’ upcoming Culinary Training Program. This unique opportunity will provide hands-on learning focused on local and sustainable agriculture and farming through a culinary lens. With an emphasis on whole-animal butchery, food waste management, business development, finance and classic culinary techniques, this full-integration program will teach participants all aspects of operations in order to be successful culinary professionals.
Carnation Farms is a non-profit working farm located on 818-acres of historic land in the Snoqualmie Valley. The farm focuses on providing educational opportunities for future farmers and culinary professionals and growing a resilient food system through stewardship and programming.
“I continue to be blown away by the craft beer, wine, and spirits offerings coming from our surrounding neighbors and the region. The quality, dedication and creativity that these artisans are offering are incredible and their commitment to the environment and local agriculture is equally inspiring. In supporting these producers, we continue to work to grow our regional community to ensure a bright future for agriculture,” said Finn.
