Carnation Famers Market launches 15th season May 1st

On Tuesday, May 1st at 3PM, the community is invited to the 15th season of Carnation Farmers Market with the ringing of the opening bell!

With an ever-growing list of new and returning vendors, the market’s selection includes all the best fresh vegetables, wood-fired breads, pastries, ethically raised meats, fruits and berries, farm fresh eggs, beer, wine, ready to eat foods, and ice cream you can get!

At the Opening Day Celebration, enjoy the music of Poindexter’s band as happy children and Maypole fairies participate in the Maypole Dance at 4:30PM. Bring the kids early and meet Lori from flower charmers for free flower crowns before the festivities begin. The reopening Ceremony for Fred Hockert Park – located right across Stossel Avenue – will begin at 5PM and ends with a special musical performance.

CFM is ready and says it has something for everyone. The Music on the Grass summer concert series will feature the local talent, in addition to special featured performances monthly from June to September.

For the kids, PoP Club returns with children’s activities and special cooking demonstrations available from June through August. A complete schedule of music and events can be found on the Carnation Farmers Market website at www.carnationfarmersmarket.org  or on Facebook and Twitter.

CFM says it is dedicated to making the market accessible to everyone and also accepts credit/debit, cash, WIC and Senior FMNP checks, SNAP/EBT, and CFM Market Bucks.

The Carnation Farmers Market is open Tuesdays from 3PM – 7PM starting May 1st and continuing until October 16th, with an additional Thanksgiving Harvest Market on Tuesday, November 20th.

CFM is located in the heart of downtown Carnation on the corner of Bird Street and Stossel Avenue in The Tolt Commons Community Shelter, just one block east of Highway 203/Tolt Avenue.

Through a partnership with Tolt River Family Medicine, CFM is able to fill Veggie Rx prescriptions at the market free of charge. CFM also offers Fresh Bucks, a dollar matching program that doubles purchasing power for SNAP beneficiaries – this year, match is unlimited!

As a program of SnoValley Tilth (SVT), Carnation Farmers Market is dedicated to bringing together farmers and the community to build a thriving local food system. The farmers market is one of many ways SVT promotes sustainable, organic farming in the Snoqualmie and Snohomish Valleys.
