The Career and Technical Education (CTE) department at Mount Si High School is planning a “Showcase Saturday” open house event on March 8, 2022, from 12-2 p.m. All are welcome!
Tour Mount Si’s state-of-the-art CTE facilities and learn about many career training options available to Snoqualmie Valley high school students!
See student projects, talk with students currently enrolled in the courses, watch engaging demonstrations and even try out some of the equipment. Culinary Arts students will be making a “from scratch” pasta lunch that will be served FREE to visitors.
Middle school families: This event would be especially beneficial for current 8th graders to get a glimpse of the high school and explore some of the elective options they will be able to choose when they register for 9th-grade courses this spring.
Activities offered at the event will include:
- Agricultural Education (View the greenhouse and the progress on the NEW animal barn.)
- Marketing Education (Shop for Mount Si gear at the DECA store and get a behind-the-scenes look at the student-run store.)
- Sports Medicine (Try out the Anatomage Table and test your anatomy knowledge.)
- Digital Media (Play with the green screen and see the digital media lab.)
- Culinary Arts (Enjoy a pasta lunch, made from scratch, created by culinary students.)
- Welding (See the state-of-the-art welding lab and student demonstrations.)
- Woodworking (Explore the woodshop equipment and watch student demonstrations.)
- Ceramics (Watch pottery wheel demonstrations.)
- Robotics (View live robotics demonstrations.)
Questions about the event? Please contact Brian Ferguson at fergusonb@svsd410.org. Masks are required by all on campus, regardless of vaccination status.
