The Snoqualmie Arts Commission invites artists of all mediums to attend the Snoqualmie Plein Air Paint Out on Saturday, July 22, from 9 am to 2:30 pm. This year’s event, which will be held separately from Snoqualmie Days, celebrates the theme of “Majestic Meadowbrook.”
Adult artists of all skill levels – from first-time painters to long-time lovers of the craft – are invited to paint “en plein air” or in the open air. Artists, families, and art enthusiasts are welcome at this free event.
Registration and Requirements
Participating artists will register in advance by email at nwiebe@snoqualmiewa.gov or onsite at Centennial Fields Park, 39903 SE Park St., between 9-11 am. Artists must register and have their canvas or watercolor paper stamped to compete. Paintings must be returned to the registration site at Centennial Fields Park no later than 2 pm. Judges will select the top three paintings by 2:25 pm. Artists will need to pick up paintings not selected by 3 pm.
Judging, Community Vote, and Display
The first-place winning artwork will be designated as the 2024 Plein Air Paint Out poster with a $300 gift certificate. Second and third-place winners will be awarded $200 and $100 gift certificates. Community-voted Honorable Mention will receive a $50 gift certificate.
The winning paintings will be displayed from August 5 through September 2 in the Falls Compounding Pharmacy windows in downtown Snoqualmie.
