Business Comings: Rio Bravito now OPEN in Snoqualmie, local owners bring second location to Ridge

If you tried stopping in at Taco del Mar on Snoqualmie Ridge over the past week, you many have noticed a big change. The doors are locked. They closed.

But don’t fear taco fans. You will still  have your cravings answered.

Locally owned Rio Bravo opened the doors of their second location in that former Taco del Mar spot on Center Blvd on Wednesday, April 11th.

The owners – the Lira brothers – seem to have the restaurant business in their blood. Their father, Arturo, started working at North Bend Bar and Grill two decades ago. Eventually Diego, Alvaro (Al), Rodrigo (Rod) and their sister joined dad at the restaurant.

The brothers then ventured out on their own, taking over Rio Bravo – located just up the road from NBBG on North Bend Way – about two years ago.

Diego said he and his brothers worked hard on the interior of the new Snoqualmie restaurant, which they will call Rio BravitoHe said they’re going with a slightly different concept with the new location, starting with tacos and burritos for the most part.

Diego said the idea is to make service really fast, but without the fast food feel. He added, “As always we’re going to focus on friendly service and great food.”

As time goes by – and community feedback come in – they plan to add things or change-up the menu. FYI – they say they take community feedback very seriously.

Planned hours are 11AM – 7PM… “or whenever people stop coming.” Business was brisk the first two days, evidenced by running out of rice before closing.

Rio Bravito will probably have a grand opening event at a later date, but this week they were just focused on getting the location open as soon as possible.

Diego added, “We’re very excited for the new restaurant. My family and I have been part of the Snoqualmie Valley community for a long time and we’re excited to bring our food to the Ridge.”

Good Luck Rio Bravito!  To stay up to date you can follow the Rio Bravo Facebook page.

  • Should be a great addition to The Ridge. The restaurant in North Bend is very popular and the staff there is brimming with hospitality.
