You’ve barely recovered from last Saturday’s laugh riot. Just in time to prepare for another round this Saturday, November 15th, as another group of sixteen comics descend upon North Bend for Round 2 of the preliminaries in North America’s biggest touring comedy festival: the Seattle International Comedy Competition (SICC).
Featuring top talent from the US and Canada, these comics are here to outdo last week’s thousand laughs by delivering a thousand and one.
On Saturday night, they’ll hit the stage and pull out all the stops with one goal in mind: your laughter. The more you laugh, the better their chances of winning the title of Best Comic.
Beth Burrows, owner of the North Bend Theatre, is thrilled to welcome SICC back for the sixth year. Said Beth, “These competitions are a riot. The comics don’t just want laughs; they need them. They’ll chase them down. Resistance is futile. Accept your fate and let loose those belly laughs.”
Meet the comics who will be delivering the fun:
- One comic enjoys watching his plants grow. He spends half his life in the spotlight and half in sunlight. He is known as The Succulent Whisperer.
- One comic lives in fear of her set collapsing into a TED talk.
- One comic says 1984 is a great book to read over someone’s shoulder. Not creepy at all.
- One comic is a senior citizen, which she enjoys. She gets to say whatever she wants, and everyone assumes it’s wisdom.
- Ancient comedy tradition demands at least one comic from Brooklyn. You guess which one. Clue: He’s the guy yelling about pigeons.
- Two comics went out on a limb and described themselves as “hot as heck”
Come for the competition, stay for the “hot as heck” comedy. See you Saturday, folks. Tickets available at northbendtheatre.com
