On November 13, 2023, Mayor Katherine Ross of Snoqualmie announced the appointment of Brian Lynch as the permanent chief of the Snoqualmie Police Department, effective December 1, 2023. This appointment is pending confirmation by the City Council.
Brian Lynch, who resides in North Bend, has served as Interim Police Chief since June 2023 and was the Police Captain previously. His law enforcement career spans over two decades, including positions at the Black Diamond and Enumclaw Police Departments before joining Snoqualmie in 2022. He also served as the Commander of the Coalition of Small Police Agencies Major Crimes Task Force for three years and has experience in emergency medical services.
Mayor Ross commented on Lynch’s performance as Interim Chief: “Since stepping forward to lead the department, I have been impressed with Interim Chief Lynch’s strong leadership and track record of accomplishments.” She noted his achievements in recruiting police officers, improving administrative processes, and enhancing department morale.
City Administrator Chambless remarked on Lynch’s qualifications: “Brian is a great fit for our police department. His strong leadership skills, ability to relate to his officers, and connections to the Snoqualmie and North Bend communities make him the perfect choice to lead the Snoqualmie Police Department.”
Upon his pending appointment, Lynch stated, “Being named Chief of Police at the Snoqualmie Police Department is an immense honor and a privilege. It comes with the weight of responsibility and the immense opportunity to shape an agency for years to come. I am humbled to be able to serve the citizens of Snoqualmie and North Bend, and I look forward to building a culture of trust within our communities.”
The Snoqualmie City Council is scheduled to consider Lynch’s appointment on November 27.
