Bob Jeans announces will seek 4th city council term

Snoqualmie City council member and current Mayor Pro-tem, Bob Jeans, announced his intention this week to seek his fourth council term. He has served as Mayor Pro-tem his past two years.

Jeans said there are exciting things on the horizon in Snoqualmie – like new homes, bold new businesses and new opportunities for recreation and improved transportation. He said he wants to continue to be part of the decision-making process “whether the gains outweigh the costs for all of our citizens and businesses.”

He added, “I would like to continue building mutually beneficial relationships with our neighbors, such as the Snoqualmie Tribe, the Northwest Railway Museum, the Snoqualmie School District and the Snoqualmie Hospital.”

Jeans has served as city council position 1 since 2006. His children and grandchildren also reside in Snoqualmie. His current term expires on December 31st.

City council candidates have until May to file. The November General Election is scheduled for November 7th. A summer primary would be needed if more than two candidates file to run for the same council position.

Council members Bryan Holloway, Heather Munden and Kathi Prewitt also have terms that expire at the end of the year, but have not yet formally announced if they will seek re-election. Council member Chelley Patterson recently announced her plans to move from Snoqualmie and when that happens, she will step down.

  • Bob along with the Mayor and the rest of City Council voted for an eye-sore of a hotel in the center of town with virtually no utility for actual Snoqualmie citizens. Think about what might have gone in that space that we could all benefit from – e.g. a local indoor events space, a theater of some sort, some interesting and unique retail that would actually attract people to our community, an eclectic multi-story “mall” for unique businesses and cafes, etc. A generic hotel could have gone next to the hospital near the freeway where all its customers will come from.
For this lack of judgment, I will vote AGAINST Bob, the Mayor and any others of this ilk that choose to rerun. Time for change in this town.

    1. Hi Dave,
A group of residents against the hotel are meeting with Fuzzy Fletcher Sunday. It would be good to connect.
