Beautiful watercolor featuring iconic Snoqualmie street corner wins 2019 Plein Air Paint Out Competition

The City of Snoqualmie recently announced the winner of the 2019 Snoqualmie Plein Air Paint Out Competition hosted a this year’s Railroad Days Festival: a beautiful watercolor piece by Jacqueline Tribble called “The Old Bank Building.”

This historic building captured in the painting is located at the corner of Falls Ave SE and SE River in downtown Snoqualmie. The piece also pulls in part the historic Carmichael’s Hardware Store building.

Tibble’s piece will be featured on the 2020 Snoqualmie Plein Air Paint Out poster.

According to the city, North Bend resident Jacqueline Tribble earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting at the University of Washington and traveled in New York and Europe to study the works of John Singer Sargent and French Impressionists. She has exhibited her work throughout the Northwest.

The annual Snoqualmie Plein Air Paint Out is sponsored by the Snoqualmie Arts Commission, which welcomes artists of all skill levels and mediums to paint “en plein air” – in the open air – throughout Snoqualmie during Railroad Days.
