August Primary Draws Near; Snoqualmie State Senate Candidate, Brad Toft, Receives New Endorsements

It’s been a busy month for Snoqualmie businessman and Washington State 5th District Senate candidate, Brad Toft.  He and his wife Jill, welcomed their third child on July 2nd- right as the campaign trail leads closer to the August primary.  Community events, parades, meetings, phone banks, a new child, legislative candidate AND a regular full-time job – and Brad and his family manage to keep it all together.

As the August primary draws closer, more endorsements for Brad Toft are being announced.  The latest announcements include endorsements from former King County Sheriff and current Congressman Dave Reichert, former Microsoft manager and first-term Senator Andy Hill,  as well as iconic former U.S. Senator, Slade Gordon.

“Fixing Olympia requires electing legislators who have the experience to get the job done right,” commented former U.S. Senator Slade Gorton. “We need leaders with Brad’s business sense to shake up Olympia and get our economy pumping again.”

This week saw the National Federation of Independent Business/WA officially endorses Brad Toft in his bid for State Senate. The official NFIB endorsement comes from NFIB/WA SAFE Trust, the organization’s political action committee, and is based on voting records and positions on key small business issues used to evaluate the candidates’ views on legislative issues affecting small business.  NFIB/WA represents more than 8,000 small and independent businesses owners.

Brad Toft faces Issaquah Councilman, Mark Mullet, for the Washington State 5th legislative district senate seat.  Incumbent, Cheryl Pflug, dropped out of the race this spring when she was appointed to a six-year term on the Washington Growth Management Hearings Board by Governor Gregoire.

Next month’s primary election happens on August 7th.   King County mailed ballots and voters pamphlets last week.  All ballots must be postmarked by August 7th.  There are also ballot drop boxes located throughout King County.  To find out more details on next month’s primary visit King County Elections.

I’m confused, I thought this blog was more about Snoqualmie news and happenings, but this seems a one sided promo for just one candidate’s endorsements. Have I missed equal coverage for Mr. Mullett? I guess it doesn’t matter if this is just meant to be a one sided opinion blog, but I thought you were going for something else with your postings & news.
