-Guest Post by Amy McHenry for Duvall Mayor
City Councilmember Amy McHenry officially announced her candidacy for Mayor of Duvall earlier this year, bringing forward a campaign rooted in sustainability, accountability, and action. A longtime resident and dedicated public servant, McHenry is running to preserve Duvall’s small-town character while addressing its most pressing needs.
“As a mom, small business owner, and city councilmember, I see every day how policy decisions affect real families,” said McHenry. “I’m running for Mayor to ensure Duvall remains a place where people feel heard, where we invest wisely in our future, and where local government works for everyone.”
McHenry’s campaign priorities include improving infrastructure and transit, supporting responsible growth that protects Duvall’s small-town charm, ensuring financial accountability, expanding parks and recreation, and fostering a vibrant and inviting community.
She is deeply honored to have earned the endorsement of Teamsters Local Union #763, the Union representing the dedicated employees of the City of Duvall. “Their support reflects our shared commitment to strong, inclusive leadership that values public service and puts the needs of our community first,” McHenry said.
McHenry already has the support of over 75 community members and more than 20 endorsements from elected officials across the region, including local leaders such as Duvall Mayor Amy Ockerlander, Mayor Pro Tem Ronn Mercer, and Councilmembers Mike Supple, Rick Shaffer, Carol Kufeldt, and Adam Olen. She is also backed by former Duvall elected officials, members of the Duvall Cultural Commission, and local school board members, reflecting broad and trusted support throughout the community.
Now in her eighth year on the City Council, McHenry has worked to expand recreation access, strengthen community partnerships, and elevate civic engagement. She’s ready to bring that same energy and dedication to the Mayor’s office.
