Updated: All Lanes Blocked on Westbound SR 18 Just East of 256th Street in Maple Valley

Update: Both Eastbound lanes open now. Emergency vehicles on the left shoulder. Use caution through the area as the investigation continues.

ORIGINAL STORY

Westbound State Route 18 just east of 256th Street has all lanes blocked in Maple Valley for a semi-involved collision. Traffic is currently getting by using the shoulder.

According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), a stolen box truck used the median turnaround from Eastbound and was struck by a semi traveling Westbound.

The female driver of the box truck was ejected. She was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Emergency crews are on the scene assisting. The backup is 3 miles in both directions. There is no estimated time to reopen.

People traveling need to remember westbound I-90 is reduced to one lane between Preston and Issaquah. People should plan for delays on both westbound SR 18 and westbound I-90.
