All Aboard for Adventure: Day Out With Thomas Returns to Snoqualmie!

Get ready for a journey filled with laughter, learning, and locomotives because everyone’s beloved blue engine, Thomas the Tank Engine, is chugging his way back to Snoqualmie in 2024!

The Northwest Railway Museum is hosting this year’s much-anticipated Day Out With Thomas: Bubble Tour. This annual event transforms the museum into a magical world where families can step right into the stories of their favorite tank engine.

Thomas the Tank Engine first steamed into readers’ hearts in 1945, introduced in the British Railway Series books by Wilbert Awdry and his son, Christopher. Thomas quickly became the series’ star, leading to his television adaptations, including the classic Thomas & Friends and the recent reboot, Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go. More than 70 years later, Thomas inspires children and adults worldwide, teaching valuable friendship, exploration, and cooperation lessons.[1]

This year’s Day Out With Thomas event promises an array of bubble-themed games and activities perfect for Thomas’s youngest fans and the young at heart. The event features live entertainment, photo opportunities, lawn games, and a chance to take a real train ride with Thomas himself. It’s an opportunity for families to create lasting memories while engaging in fun and interactive experiences.

The event will take place at the Northwest Railway Museum in Snoqualmie, WA, on select dates in July 2024. Tickets are on sale now, including a train ride with Thomas, access to Thomas & Friends-themed entertainment, access to the railway museum exhibit hall and a chance to meet Sir Topham Hatt, the Controller of the Railway on the Island of Sodor.

The Day Out With Thomas event is designed for children under eight but welcomes passengers of all ages. The journey begins at the Snoqualmie Depot, where guests will board the train to ride to the Railway History Center. There, they’ll have the chance to explore Thomas-themed activities and the rail heritage exhibits before reboarding for a scenic excursion to Snoqualmie Falls.

For those planning to attend, the Northwest Railway Museum recommends arriving at least 30 minutes before your scheduled departure to enjoy this two-hour adventure fully. While masks are not required, they are recommended for everyone age two and older to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

Day Out With Thomas is more than just an event; it’s a tradition that brings the magical world of Thomas the Tank Engine to life. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or introducing Thomas to a new generation, this day promises to be filled with discovery, joy, and the wonder of trains. Don’t miss your chance to join Thomas and his friends for a day of colorful adventures and imagination at the Northwest Railway Museum. All aboard for fun![2]
