Accident on SR 18 involving state trooper, semi closes westbound lanes near Snoqualmie Tuesday afternoon

Fire and aid crews responded to another serious accident on SR 18 near the I-90 interchange, Tuesday afternoon, January 28, 2020.

The accident occurred around 1PM and involved a Washington State Patrol (WSP) vehicle and a semi truck. It happened west of I-90 in the westbound lanes of SR 18.

All SR 18 westbound lanes were closed at I-90 while firefighters from Eastside Fire & Rescue and Snoqualmie Fire responded to the scene. By 3PM – and in time for the afternoon commute – all lanes were reopened.

According to the Snoqualmie Fire Department, the WSP Commercial Truck Enforcement Officer involved in the collision struck the back of the a semi truck that was slowing down.

The WSP trooper had neck and back pain and was transported to Overlake Medical Center as a precaution.
