A Third Drowning Incident Reported on Snoqualmie River

A tragic incident occurred Wednesday, August 16th, when the King County Communications Center received a 911 distress call from the 31000 block of NE 40th Street, near Tolt MacDonald Park, along the banks of the Snoqualmie River in Carnation.

The call occurred at approximately 528 pm and reported a possible drowning.

The King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) Deputies, the specialized KCSO Marine Unit, and local Fire Department teams initiated an immediate response to the scene. Despite the swift efforts of all responding units and the application of life-saving measures, the individual could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the location.

The identity of the victim, including name, age, and gender, as well as the specific circumstances leading up to the tragic event, are not available at this time. Sgt Eric White, the Public Information Officer for the King County Sheriff’s Office, confirmed the limited details available.

The community is reminded to exercise caution near water bodies and always to be vigilant of their surroundings. This incident serves as a sobering reminder of the unpredictable nature of rivers and water bodies.
