A Wilderness Rim neighborhood resident said power was cut off to about 400 homes early Friday morning, January 22, 2016 after a vehicle took out a power pole, sending across the roadway.
According to King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) Sergeant Cindi West, about 12:45AM, January 22nd they received a call from a neighbor near the accident scene who reported that a truck went into a power pole in the 42800 block of SE 170th PL in North Bend.
West said according to the incident report, the caller heard the crash and came out of his house to find a white truck had collided with the pole. The male driver was trying to drive away, but the caller reported he could not because the power lines kept the truck from moving. The driver then exited the vehicle and left the scene on foot, with the neighbor adding that the man appeared to be intoxicated.
Sgt. West said KCSO deputies searched the area, but did not locate the driver who was described a white male, about 6 feet tall and 180lbs, wearing a camouflage jacket. The vehicle was not stolen, with Sgt. West saying she believed the truck came out of Lake Stevens.
A Wilderness Rim resident said power was out for 11 hours on Friday while PSE worked to fix the pole and downed lines – and a KCSO deputy on site.
