2018 Citizen Academy Graduates recognized by council, mayor

Last month 22 Snoqualmie residents began an in-depth, 7-week exploration into how their city works at the 12th annual Citizens Academy – and on Monday, October 22nd they graduated.

The free, seven-week course offers residents a first-hand look at how Snoqualmie’s government works. The sessions were led by city leadership and department directors, and were described as informal and interactive,

The program was launched in 2007 by longtime city clerk, Jodi Warren who said, “The Citizen’s Academy was developed in order to improve our citizens’ understanding of our local government while learning more about community issues and concerns.  Informed citizens foster stronger relationships between the local government and the community.”

2018 graduates were: Anna Sotello, Becky Bastian, Carma Brown, Chelsea Rivas, Cheri Meyers, Christina Nguyen, Donna Cronk, Fledra  Hamill, Gene Pollard, Heather Koellen, Joan Quade, Julie Lake, Ricardo Mendes, Sharon Conte, Stephanie Santiago, Travis Hamill, Trey Bailey, Wayne Russell, Colleen Johnson, Kathryn Podschwit, Martin Kurtzuhn and Kevin Berwald.
