18 Venues, One Night: North Bend Jazz Walk Set for April 25

The 15th Annual North Bend Jazz Walk on April 25th is a highly anticipated music festival nestled at the foot of majestic Mount Si, featuring some of the finest jazz talent in the Pacific Northwest. 18 venues in historic Downtown North Bend will play host to an evening celebrating jazz.

Participating venues include The North Bend Theatre, The Moose Lodge, Boxley’s Jazz Club, Hartwood Cafe, Scott Rinckenberger Gallery, Birches Habitat, DT Vintage Antiques, Pro Ski and Mountain Guide, Twede’s Cafe, Pearl & Stone, Friends & Co. Ice Cream, Main Street Pilates, North Bend Trading, Volition Brewing, Twin Peaks Pub, North Bend Chevrolet, and The Pour House. New this year: Mastrogiannis Distillery and Winery.

Only 31 miles from Downtown Seattle, North Bend has become a musical destination, featuring live music seven nights a week at Boxley’s, which has been repeatedly named one of the Best Jazz Clubs in the World by Downbeat Magazine.

Most venues are family-friendly for all ages, except The Pour House and Twin Peaks Pub, which are 21 and over. The Moose Lodge is all ages until 10:00 PM, after which visitors must be 21 and over.

Featured jazz artists include Greta Matassa Quintet, Jerry Steinhilber Trio, Jay Thomas Tenor Dynasty II, Danny Kolke Trio Jazz Walk Jam, Kelly Eisenhour & Reuel Lubag, Gary Schroeder/Nathan Fischer Trio, Leah Stillwell Duo, Kandin Neri Trio, CWU Jazz Combo, Janette West Quartet, KO Quartet, Ben Thomas Trio, Jensen-Anschell-Chriscaden with Brushes, Dan Taylor Trio, Free Fall, Fagan Brazilian Quartet, Pearl Django, Moe Weisner Quartet, Richard Cole 4+1, the Audrey Stangland Trio, and the Bellevue College Big Band.

This year will also include eight high school big band performances at the North Bend Theatre beginning at 5 pm, featuring award-winning jazz bands from Bonney Lake High School, Roosevelt High School, Mount Si High School, Bellevue High School, Mercer Island High School, and Sammamish High School. Student performances focus on education and experience, rather than a competitive festival structure.

The event is produced and sponsored by the Boxley Music Fund, a member-run, non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to supporting live music performance and jazz education.
