Lockdown, Search over after multiple Gun shots reported in Preston

The King County Sheriff’s Office stated via social media that the lockdown and search in Preston was over.  The woods were searched by Guardian 1 and KCSO Tac 30 for over two hours, but the source of the gun fire was not found.  All roads are open, kids are safe and lockdown is over.

 


The King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) reported that YMCA’s Camp Terry in Preston was on lockdown Thursday afternoon, June 2, 2016 after multiple gun shots were reported by multiple callers in the area of SE 86th and 311th around 11:15AM.

The camp is located nearby at 31112 SE 85th Place.

According to the KCSO Twitter feed, it was unknown what the target of the shooting is, but there were no known injuries and all people at the camp were safe in the buildings.

Tactical teams, as well as Guardian 1 helicopter is searching for the source of the gun shots.  Residents and workers in the area reported heavy police presence and that roads are blocked.

The Issaquah Press reported the road is blocked at SE High Point Way and the entrance to Preston Park and Preston-Fall City Road is closed between Southeast 82nd Street and Southeast 85th Place due to the police activity.
