Wintery Weather in North Bend area Pushes into Evening

What a difference 7 miles makes.  In Snoqualmie it’s plain old (cold) rain, but just a few miles east in North Bend, it’s snow and freezing rain – and has been all day.

Residents report Cedar Falls Way, Uplands Way and stretches of I-90 from exit 27 eastward have icy, snowy roads, with spinouts, stalled cars and rollovers all observed.  Basically, as one reader put it, an “icy, slushy mess,” but plows and sanders did make it out Sunday afternoon.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the North Bend area until 9PM, Sunday, March 2, 2014.

A warm front just off the Washington Coast stalled, which has kept the wintery weather around longer than expected, but NWS says the warmer air should push onshore later this evening and scour out the cold air trapped in parts of the Snoqualmie Valley.

Take it slow and be careful!
