Winter Storm Response Update from the City of Snoqualmie

With stabilized conditions on main roads, Public Works crews are working hard to plow secondary and tertiary areas in the City.

With today’s Winter Weather Advisory, residents should be prepared for the possibility of additional snow overnight. If the region receives more snow,  crews will continue to follow their snow removal plan and plow main arterials, followed by secondary and tertiary streets.

Best Practices for Cleared, Safe Streets

  • Move cars out of the streets and into driveways, doubling them up if needed.
  • Drivers who abandon vehicles should pull off the road as safely as possible to avoid blocking vehicles and plows.
  • Inevitably cars and driveways will be blocked with snow from the plow – please understand this is at times unavoidable.
  • Keep children out of streets before, during, and after snowstorms as plows prepare and maintain streets.
  • Walk on the left side of the road (facing traffic) where there are no sidewalks or the sidewalks are impassable.
  • Crews are dedicated to the safety of the community and will do the best they can around the clock to plow and sand our community.
  • Moving wet and heavy snow by hand can be very taxing. Those with medical history should avoid overexerting themselves when moving snow.
  • To learn more, see the City Snow and Ice Removal Plan along with the Snowplow Route.
