William Grassie Wine Estates to open new Snoqualmie tasting room

Another new business is coming to Snoqualmie. On Tuesday, November 19th, Fall City winery – William Grassie Wine Estates – confirmed it will soon open a Snoqualmie [Ridge] tasting room.

According to owner Bill Grassie, a lease has been officially signed to locate the new tasting room on Center Blvd in the spot formerly occupied by the Verizon Store.

Grassie said he hopes to be open in December 2019 – optimistically by December 15th – but that opening is highly dependent on liquor licensing – so the opening date isn’t a slam dunk.

William Grassie Wine Estates currently has two tasting rooms – one in Woodinville where wine production occurs, and one in Fall City. Once the Snoqualmie location is up and running, the plan is to close the Woodinville tasting room, although you will still be able to purchase wine there.

Bill said eventually the Fall City tasting room – which is currently open year round – will transition to being open during the summer months.

Since the Snoqualmie location’s interior is is good shape, no major renovations are planned – except for getting the space to look and feel more sleek.

The new tasting room should be open 5 days per week to start. It may even open up 7 days per week in January just to gauge when customers come in, and then adjust days and hours based on customer traffic.

Bill commented that some people have asked him to open on Mondays. He said he would consider that if people actually come in on Mondays. A January “traffic test” will help him decide on days and hours.

The tasting room will be kid and pet friendly. Although there will not be a kitchen, they will offer prepackaged meat and cheese plates – and customers can also bring in their own food. There are also plans for outdoor seating.
