[Guest Post by Cathy Kuhnau Wildcat Boys Swim & Dive Parent Liaison]

The 2021-22 Wildcat Boys Swim and Dive team made great strides this season. Eight of the team qualified to move on to the post-season competition.

After competing at KingCo Championships, all eight proceeded to qualify for the District II 4A champs contested on February 11.

After morning prelims, all the boys were still in the running. All three relay teams finished in the top 12. Junior Jay Boivin and Freshman Colin Duran finished in the top 12 to move on to compete in individual events.

The evening finals proved to be an exciting matchup. The relay teams all shaved time from their prelim times with the 200 free relay cutting an impressive 3 seconds off their entry time finishing at 1:39:21.

Jay Boivin pulled off 2nd and 3rd place finishes in the 200 free and 500 free respectively. Competing at a different venue, diver Ty Mitton made his contribution by finishing 2nd in his event.

Ty and Jay both qualified for State Championships. Way to go!

Final results:

Ty Mitton 2nd 1 meter diving

Jay Boivin 2nd 200 free and 3rd 500 free

Colin Duran 11th 500 free
