Vaccination Clinic in Fall City, Sunday, Oct 3rd

Discovery Health MD in conjunction with the Fall City Fire Department will be hosting a vaccination clinic at the Fall City Fire Department, located at 4301-334th PL SE, Fall City, WA 98024, on Sunday, Oct 3rd from noon-4pm.  No sign-up is needed, just show up during the clinic time.

At this clinic, all vaccines will be available; Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson and Johnson. They will be offering first shots, second shots, booster shots and 3rd shots for those with immunocompromised conditions.

Categories

First or Second Shot

  • Pfizer; 12 years of age and older – second dose 21 days after the first
  • Moderna; 18 years of age and older – second dose 28 days after the first
  • Janssen (Johnson and Johnson); 18 years of age and older – single shot

Booster Shot

At this time, booster dose recommendations only apply to certain groups who received the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.

The CDC and the Washington State DOH recommend:

  • People 65 years and older should receive a booster shot of Pfizer vaccine, waiting at least 6 months after their second Pfizer shot in their series.
  • Residents in long-term care settings should receive a booster shot of Pfizer vaccine at least 6 months after their Pfizer primary series.
  • People aged 50 to 64 with certain underlying medical conditions should receive a booster shot of Pfizer vaccine at least 6 months after their Pfizer primary series.
  • People 18 to 49 who are at high risk for severe COVID-19 due to certain underlying medical conditions may receive a booster shot of Pfizer vaccine at least 6 months after their Pfizer primary series, based on their individual benefits and risks.
  • People aged 18-64 years who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting (listed below) may receive a booster shot of Pfizer vaccine at least 6 months after their Pfizer primary series, based on their individual benefits and risks.

Occupations at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission include front-line essential workers and health care workers as detailed by the CDC.

  • First responders (healthcare workers, firefighters, police, congregate care staff)
  • Education staff (teachers, support staff, daycare workers)
  • Food and agriculture workers
  • Manufacturing workers
  • Corrections workers
  • U.S. Postal Service workers
  • Public transit workers
  • Grocery store workers

3rd Shot for Immunocompromised

People with moderately to severely compromised immune systems are especially vulnerable to COVID-19 and may not build the same level of immunity to the 2-dose vaccine series compared to people who are not immunocompromised.

This additional dose is intended to improve immunocompromised people’s response to their initial vaccine series.

Currently, CDC is recommending that moderately to severely immunocompromised people receive the 3rd shot. This includes people who have:

  • Been receiving active cancer treatment for tumors or cancers of the blood
  • Received an organ transplant and are taking medicine to suppress the immune system
  • Received a stem cell transplant within the last 2 years or are taking medicine to suppress the immune system
  • Moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency (such as DiGeorge syndrome, Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome)
  • Advanced or untreated HIV infection
  • Active treatment with high-dose corticosteroids or other drugs that may suppress your immune response

People should talk to their healthcare provider about their medical condition, and whether getting the 3rd shot is appropriate for them.

*To protect your privacy, you will not be asked which immunocompromised condition you have, you will simply be asked to self-attest that you qualify for the 3rd shot, per the guidelines.

At this time, only Pfizer and Moderna are authorized for the administration of a 3rd dose, 28 days after your second dose (not Johnson and Johnson).

Please bring your CDC Vaccination Card to the event, so they can record your vaccination. If you lost your card, just let them know and they can help produce a new card.

If you have any questions, please email Robert Angrisano at rangrisano@discoveryhealthmd.com and he’ll respond back ASAP.
